This year I was 1st AD, Producer, Writer, and Sound Designer across 2 main projects. I set out to help create stories that provide authentic representation to those who are often overlooked. Both Julia's and The Devil is My Roommate had values surrounding these, showing an image that isn't frequently visited in the media. I cannot wait to share these projects and continue learning more about the creative industry.
Julia's is an up-close and personal short film that shines a light on the domestic struggles of everyday life in hospitality. Head chef, Cara, doesn’t get her morning delivery, leaving a lone onion and yesterday's leftovers to suffice the day. As customers start pouring in, more accidents start to pile up and the host, James, is no help. Will she survive today’s service or will she crumble?
The Devil Is My Roommate is a pilot for an animated series. We follow Amon, the Devil’s son, who is stranded on Earth by his father. He must navigate this strange new world and prove himself ready for the job he doesn't want, but Amon has other ideas. This story’s a light-hearted slice-of-life comedy show that discusses the struggles of being different in a society that wasn't built for you.
