The first ever Dillybog makeup application. Surprisingly difficult to paint a star over an eye!
For a first time second AC, it was fun!
Incredibly focused SFX makeup application

Bachelor of Screen Arts

On “Who Do We Have Here?” written and directed by Jasper Sutcliffe, I was a member of the art department, helping to paint the flats and destroy the set after the protagonist Dillybog’s rampage. Being part of the Art Department was very fulfilling, and working under Iris Garstang (the Art Director) was just a dream. However, my primary job was that of Makeup Artist. I did Dillybog’s standard makeup, as well as the SFX makeup applications of the cotton pulling wound and the fake blood, as I have a background in SFX makeup for stage and screen. Being able to be the Makeup Artist, and especially on a project as creative as this, brought me a lot of joy, as I hadn't worked as one for some time. I was really drawn to this project due to the exceptionally creative visual aspects, as well as the passion of the Heads of Departments.

Additionally, I took on the role of 2nd AC. I had never been in this role before, but this set was such a safe space for learning that I found it very enjoyable to learn. Being so focused on the takes as the 2nd AC, I was also able to more efficiently notice when the characters’ makeup needed retouching.

‘Who Do We Have Here?’ tells the story of children's TV show character, Dilly Bog, as he is awoken into human form from a soft-toy and struggles to adapt to the unfamiliar world around him. Dilly Bog interrogates the show’s characters about his existence and purpose, disrupting the show’s structure. This short thriller/comedy aims to warp the nostalgia people have surrounding the shows they grew up with.
