Graduate Diploma of Screen Arts

I worked on several film projects in multiple roles. My primary role was as a writer and director for 'Next of Kin.' Leading a project from my own script into production was an exciting yet challenging job. The experience that I learned along the way has been significant in growing my confidence within film production. The other projects I worked on were 'Nokia Low,' where I served as their Head Gaffer, and for 'Julia's,' I jumped in as their 1st AC. Working across multiple projects taught me a lot about creative team leadership and the translation of ideas into vivid visuality. Finishing this year with these short films under my belt has inspired me to continue writing and creating.

Next of Kin follows Ellie’s return to her childhood home, hoping to mend the rift woven into her life since her father's worsening illness. Swarmed by unhealed memories and brewing tension with her sister Jamie, Ellie is engulfed in a paralysing grip of apprehension, fearing the inevitable farewell. She must find the strength to say goodbye, before it’s too late.

Nokia Low is a short film drama that details a toxic, codependent relationship. Michael supports him and his girlfriend, Jasmine. Jasmine is an addict, and depends on Michael to fund her expensive addiction. Michael loves her, and knows if she keeps using, she will die. But he cannot bring himself to deny her the money. Because he is obsessed with the fear that she will leave him if he does.

Julia's is an up-close and personal short film that shines a light on the domestic struggles of everyday life in hospitality. Head chef, Cara, doesn’t get her morning delivery, leaving a lone onion and yesterday's leftovers to suffice the day. As customers start pouring in, more accidents start to pile up and the host, James, is no help. Will she survive today’s service or will she crumble?
