I was the gaffer for 'Who Do We Have Here?', I was drawn to the story of the short film as I am interested in similar stories that take a more meta approach and was excited to see how the production would develop into a finished film. For the production I worked closely with the camera department on lighting the shots and creating a cohesive aesthetic for the film, this was a contrast of flat sound-stage lighting similar to a children's show and darker more ominous tones for scenes as the story progressed.

I also worked as the Art Director for 'Stuck In A Hard Place'. I found this project to be very interesting to work on as an experience to work with a director on applying thematic ideas to the characters through costume and props.

‘Who Do We Have Here?’ tells the story of children's TV show character, Dilly Bog, as he is awoken into human form from a soft-toy and struggles to adapt to the unfamiliar world around him. Dilly Bog interrogates the show’s characters about his existence and purpose, disrupting the show’s structure. This short thriller/comedy aims to warp the nostalgia people have surrounding the shows they grew up with.

Stuck in a Hard Place is a live-action, coming-of-age drama following the tumultuous relationship between father and son. Two men find themselves alone together on a hike in the idyllic New Zealand bush, and the cracks in their relationship start to show. When their trip takes an unexpected turn for the worst, the son realises he must resolve their conflict or risk losing his father forever.
