Behind the scenes content from a short film project I produced last year.
This is a five minute video essay I made shortly before one of the greatest directors of all time passed away. RIP Jean-Luc Goddard
Along with the bachelor of screen arts, I'm also halfway through getting my level 4 diploma in sports and exercise science.

Bachelor of Screen Arts

I worked as a producer and then as a 1st Assistant Camera on two films, Stuck in a Hard Place and Twenty Years Buried. Both films presented the challenge of working in the outdoors which is where I love to be. The two have very distinct styles and had much different production challenges that allowed me to develop not only my technical skill with equipment, but interpersonal skills as a commanding/organisational voice on set. This further cemented my aspirations to produce in future.

Stuck in a Hard Place is a live-action, coming-of-age drama following the tumultuous relationship between father and son. Two men find themselves alone together on a hike in the idyllic New Zealand bush, and the cracks in their relationship start to show. When their trip takes an unexpected turn for the worst, the son realises he must resolve their conflict or risk losing his father forever.

Twenty Years Buried is a live-action Western short film set in the midst of New Zealand's first gold rush. A grizzled mercenary transports a bounty of two criminal siblings to their execution. Their journey is violently derailed by the ghosts of his past, despite his best efforts to bury it. With gunslingers and threats closing in, he must confront his past to finish the job … or die trying.
