Baxter Gray

I directed, edited, wrote, and scored Wizard Mischief. I set out to make a short film that plays and experiments with form and composition. The aesthetic and thematic ideas have been very specific from the beginning and are the result of the last few years of creative iteration. I am very glad that the final result lives up to and meets my original ideation.The whole process has been really amazing and enjoyable thanks to our amazing crew and cast. I look forward to continuing to develop a sense of creative identity and working on more projects in the coming years.

Wizard Mischief is an absurdist, neo-gothic short film about wizards, imps and fairies. It follows Lucy, a cruel and impulsive wizard, as she is followed by mischievous imps and culminates with a confrontation with the Fairy Queen over the grave of her mother.
