Ashlee Stevens

As one of the creative leads, In Her Steps is a film I hold very close to me. In my roles as Co-director, Co-writer and D.O.P, I was involved throughout the entire process of bringing this story to life. It's inspired me to continue working in similar roles and collaborating with like minded people. I also enjoyed being on the art department for When you See Me.

'In Her Steps' conveys a relationship where both parties grow with each other, but one that isn't overly saturated on-screen. Our story strives to be authentic, personal, and able to connect with everyone. This isn't just about mothers and daughters, it's everyone who has a meaningful relationship in their life that encourages growth. We want to highlight the simple things that are often overlooked.

When You See Me is a whimsical sapphic romance short film that follows the love story between a poet and a painter. Leilani realises her feelings for Maeve, her best friend, goes beyond their close friendship. But with Maeve set to move halfway across the country. She must decide whether to speak those feelings or silence her heart.
