In a world where first impressions often define our perspectives, small suburbs like Wainuiomata often find themselves reduced to stereotypes and misconceptions. Say, “I’m from Wainuiomata,” and you’ll typically receive one of two responses: either a blank look of ignorance; or a knowing nod accompanied by the stereotypical judgment assumptions about the place.

I set out to break these preconceived ideas and showcase the often overlooked aspects of Wainuiomata.
