Light sculptures have been designed as a tribute to homes that were lost throughout Ōtautah Christchurch.

A pavilion has been designed to offer community reconnection. A place to stop, have lunch, and experience the ecological surroundings.

Three light sculptures sit in the restored wetlands of Avondale. At night the sculptures glow, inviting visitors to experience the red zone in a new way.

A walkway connects the light sculptures and pavilion, offering views of the Ōtākaro / Avon River, surrounding red-zoned land and restored wetlands.

This project explores the red-zoned land of Avondale, Ōtautahi Christchurch. It investigates how this environment's regeneration could facilitate reconnection for humans and the surrounding ecological life. With a focus on more-than-human ecologies, a series of spatial interventions including a walkway, pavilion and light sculptures have been designed to encourage visitors to reconnect with this landscape, reflect on the past, and support the growth of its native habitat.
