Bachelor of Design with Honours
Happy & Docile explores my conflict of being a commercial photographer while simultaneously critiquing consumer culture. This project explores the ramifications of image saturation, capitalism and consumerism. The images examine the idea of commodity fetishism through investigating repurposing culture. Creating a primitive digital collage from embedded images of treasured second-hand purchases, I invite the viewer to see past the chaos to the beauty. The studio image sits in front, disrupting the chaos.
