‘Mosquito Larvae’ is an act to preserve memories of a destroyed piece of forestry on my family’s farm in Taranaki. As a child this place was my sanctuary. I have been drawn to pine tree bark due to its symbolic potency. My feverish, spiraling mark making is an ode to the visual qualities of material from the site. I intend to spark contemplation and the rebirth of fragmented memories.
