My painting practice engages with light as both a subject and material. I’m interested in serendipitous and neglected moments within the familiar. Working with oil paint on glass sheets, I explore how transparency can be manipulated through layering and etching. With the desire to grasp something intangible, this work, titled (un)wavering glare explores the tension between; spontaneity / manipulation, beauty / the ordinary, stillness / flux and shadow / light.
