Gabrielle Sutton

Ankow is a mixed media artwork which sets out to both explore and enact alternative cultures, specifically punk and anarchist. My previous artwork proved that stereotypical versions of anarchism as chaos and violence aren’t what these movements are about, but rather individual autonomy uncontrolled by the likes of the government or social constructs. This work is about the dissemination of these ideas into the community through badges, stickers, and stencils.
