Bachelor of Design with Honours
In My Yard is an adventure garden-simulator game that focuses on crafting urban green spaces to protect and cultivate the native birds of Aotearoa. Play as a young woman who moves to a small town on the edge of Aotearoa’s national park and encounters a Tūī with a broken wing. Heal the young Tūī and embark on a journey to assist the indigenous birds in the park.
As an upcoming female concept artist, I wanted to create an immersive and educational game that highlights the importance of conservation and the role individuals play in preserving our native ecosystem. The game's mechanics are based on female centric design principles, bringing games for women by women into the academic world.
